The University of California has made a commitment that all newly constructed buildings will achieve a LEED-NC (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver Certification level and outperform California's Title 24 energy code by at least 20 percent.

To move towards more sustainable operations and maintenance of existing buildings, each campus must submit one pilot building for LEED for Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) certification.

All UC renovation projects with a budget over $5 million must meet the LEED for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) Certified level.

This page provides information on UC's green building projects, including a list of all LEED certified buildings, more in-depth case studies on specific buildings, and background on UC Policy.
